Last week, the Supreme Court heard two cases relating to marriage equality. Opinions and possible legal changes relating to both Proposition 8 and Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) cases are expected in June.
Last week in Portland, the Alberta Rose Theater canceled a scheduled performance by Michelle Shocked, after Michelle made hateful and homophobic statements at a concert in San Francisco. In response to this concert cancelation, the Alberta Rose Theater offered their venue to Basic Rights Oregon for a fundraiser.
Tonight we welcome Basic Rights Oregon (BRO) to discuss the issues being considered by Supreme Court as part of Prop 8 and DOMA. We’ll also feature music from artists performing at BROmance, a benefit for Basic Rights Oregon happening on Thurs April 25th. Tune in to hear music from Sneakin Out, Ashleigh Flynn, and Storm Large.
