EXPERIMENTAL CHINA:  We explore some of the recent experimental music to come out of China in the last decade. Until the late 1990s, most Chinese were isolated from the expermental music scene happening in the West, but with the internet, things changed at the dawn of the new century, when the avant garde scene exploded..  On this show we will hear a variety of experimental sounds, from harsh noise electronics to ambient soundscapes and other stuff, drawing mostly from a couple of CD compilations, the two-disc CHINA:. THE SONIC AVANT-GARDE, and the four-CD 1992-2008 AN ANTHOLOGY OF CHINESE EXPERIMENTAL MUSIC.
