Ned and Mary Boyne  move into an old manor house in Dorset, deep in the English countryside. Its need of major renovation and its isolation are exactly what the young couple had dreamed of finding once that had 'made it'.  And the story that there is even a ghost, makes the place even more appealing. But strangely, all they can learn about this haunting is that  you won't know you have seen the ghost until 'afterward'. And this leaves them totally unprepared for what does happen. An off beat ghost story by Edith Wharton, the author of Age of Innocence and Ethan Frome. And concerns some of Wharton's favorite subjects: betrayal by a loved one, and home renovation. Besides being one of America's great writers, Wharton was one of the first people to write about interior decoration, and home renovation. Our abidged version features Gigi La Rue, Cory Colbalt Shimla, Engilsh Rose, Mrs White, and Rasco Velt.  With Fortuanto doing a quick fill in for a scene that got lost during production,With background music excerpted from the soundtracks to 'Vertigo', 'The Red Shoes' and Philip Glass' 'Dracula'. Plus 'Slow Down' by Cassandra Wilson during the break. This program is dedicated to the memory of Loretta Wallet, a long time teacher at Cleveland High School in SE Portland, Oregon. Who taught English Literature, and foreign languages. Being one of the first teachers to offer classes in Russian in the Portland area.
