Ever since Jimmy Smith unlocked the fury of the instrument in the fifties, others come along and made the jazz organ sound part of the aural sphere of American Classic Music. The likes of Jimmy McGriff, Larry Goldings, Richard Groove Holmes, and Joey DeFrancesco demonstrate courage on the open range, and stare down the beast that is the Hammond Organ.
(3:30-5pm) Bobby Lyle Plays
The keyboardist brings an unbridled, soulfulness and passion to the keys. Like no other, the former Music Director for Bette Midler, Lyle fingers stirs a tsunami and dimension unrivaled and why his talent is spot lighted.
