David Mancuso and Sharon Jones passed over this year. We remember.

Freeks-n-Deeks Collective (Sam-I-Am, Thurston Hungar, Slamantha Foxx) bring you, on behalf of our friend Tronic, a Plugged In special honouring the lives and legacies of two of more recently passed monumental personages to leave the rest of us here to fulfill our own artistic densities or destinies or both.

"Mancuso pioneered the idea of underground private parties in New York in the early 1970s as an alternative the the city's commercial nightclub scene. After launching his first major loft party called "Love Saves The Day" in 1970, his events quickly took off and became a haven for exciting dance music in the city."

-Colin Stutz, 2016-11-14, for Billboard Magazine

Listen with us to some very tasty mixes that represent the vibe, the rhythm, the rhyme and the reason of Mancuso's electrifying mixes and DJ sets.

"Jones' exhilarating live shows, which functioned as equal parts Baptist church revival, Saturday night juke joint and raucous 1970s Las Vegas revue, [...] showcased the singer's unparalleled energy. In venues filled with people half her age, Jones was the most dynamic person in the room, bolting onstage and commanding the crowd like her idol James Brown. It was homage without mimicry; respecting the soul and funk elders that defined the genres while displaying seemingly boundless vitality."

Jason Newman, 2016-11-18, for Rolling Stone

We will hear as much as possible of one of those very shows, and you can judge for yourself. We're confident you will to a significant extent agree with Mr Newman.
