Salvatore Gencarelle discusses his book, "A Man Among the Helpers"
In the latest Democratic debate, Bernie Sanders drew a link between climate change and international conflict, and even the Pentagon has consistently called this a "threat multiplier." The root of our problems, according to Salvatore Gencarelle, arises out of the "disconnection disease" that pervades modern society. He asserts that Indigenous cultures have a higher understanding of survival and connection and it is time we sought their wisdom.
Gencarelle, has just published his personal story: A Man Among the Helpers, which describes Native American concepts, philosophies and actual ceremonies from a modern perspective. He spent 27 years as a helper of Spiritual Interpreter Benjamin Godfrey Chips of the Lakota Sioux, and he is now working on Cultural Repair and Realignment with Sacred Law.
