PLUS our Featured Goddesses this week:
Voice of Baceprot (VoB) - An incredible metal trio formed in Garut, West Java. They sing in English as well as their native language of Sudanese. They are Muslim women who can be seen rocking out in full Islamic attire, which caused quite a stir in their native land. They are creators of the worldwide "Not Public Property" movement, bringing attention to issues regarding women’s bodily autonomy. (According to the band, "Baceprot" in Sudanese means "Noise"). Their latest single is "PMS", and we'll give it a spin plus a few other awesome tracks.
Atlanta's Guitar Gabby and the TxLips Band (featuring the amazingly talented Gabrielle Logan). According to their website, they are "setting the tone for BIPOC women and gender-expansive rock stars to own and operate in their own light within the music industry."
FLEUR! A trio from Jaktara, Indonesia. A group of talented young women with a super-groovy 60's retro rock sound and original music. They got their start in 2017 as a four-piece called Flower Girls, playing mostly covers by Indonesian rock band Dara Puspita. Fleur released a new album this past summer, and we're excited to play some of our favorite tracks from it!
Goddess Obscura is a 3-hour music program that airs on the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month (late Sunday night) at midnight.
