Mental Health & the Trauma of Incarceration

Host Karen James speaks with Chris Doud, a Portland mental health therapist.  Chris discusses the experiences of people with mental health challenges who become involved with the criminal legal system.  Chris explains the trauma of arrest and incarceration and the special needs of people of color and LGBTQ individuals who are disproportionately drawn into the system. He also talks about his work to stop the use of solitary confinement.
