Nourishing Broth: An Old Fashioned Remedy for a Modern World with Sally Fallon Morell

The follow-up book to the hugely best-selling Nourishing Traditions,  NOURISHING BROTH continues to look at the culinary practices of our ancestors,  the immense health benefits of homemade bone broth due to the gelatin and collagen that is present in real bone broth (vs. broth made from powders).  NOURISHING BROTH explores the science behind broth's unique combination of amino acids, minerals and cartilage compounds. Some of the benefits of such broth are: quick recovery from illness and surgery, the healing of pain and inflammation, increased energy from better digestion, lessening of allergies, recovery from Crohn's disease and a lessening of eating disorders because the fully balanced nutritional program lessens the cravings which make most diets fail. In addition, the book serves as a handbook for various techniques for making broths-from simple chicken broth to rich, clear consommé, to shrimp shell stock. A variety of interesting stock-based recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner from throughout the world complete the collection and help everyone get more nutrition in their diet.

Sally Fallon Morell is the author of the bestselling cookbook Nourishing Traditions (with Mary G. Enig, PhD) and of the Nourishing Traditions Book of Baby & Child Care (with Thomas S. Cowan, MD). She is the leading voice for a return to nutrient-dense traditional foods. She serves as founding president of The Weston A. Price Foundation, a nutrition education nonprofit organization with over 15,000 members, and as editor of Wise Traditions, the Foundation's quarterly journal. An articulate communicator, Fallon Morell lectures frequently throughout the U.S. and overseas.

The mission of KBOO is undermined by promoting speciesist points of view and practices.&nbsp; The assumption behind this program is human supremacy and that other animals are here to serve the interests of humans and do not have the right to exist for their own interests.&nbsp; This dominant paradigm is propping up the very systems of oppression that KBOO seeks to expose and combat. &nbsp;I would hope KBOO programmers could see the hypocracy&nbsp;of this and how they shoot themselves in the foot with this inconsistency.<br />
