We'll by talking with Caermon Whitten, activist and organizer, about the Q Center and his role as new iterim ED. The Q Center has needs! including raising funds for some building repair. The Q Center also hosts programming related to GLBTQ community needs.

After, we'll re-play an interview with Michael Helquist, author of Marie Equi: Radical Politics and Outlaw Passions. Living in Oregon in the early 20th century, Dr. Equi was "a physician for the working class, a lesbian, and a fiercely independent activist unafraid to take risks or stand by her principles" (from the book cover).

Music played on today's show:

Part Time Woman, by Vivek Shyraya and Queer Songbook Orchestra. Shraya will be performing with Anna Vo in conjunction with BETWEEN., this Friday at the Art Museum.

"BETWEEN. highlights artists working within the queer and trans diaspora, and the unique voices coming from between or beyond the binary. This exhibition aims to queer the curatorial process, taking into account current visibility politics and presenting the work of LGBTQIA2S+ artists in ways that challenge normative art world conventions. The exhibiting artists explore narratives of identity ranging from personal observation and portraiture to performative spaces of transformation and fantasy.  BETWEEN. aims to foreground narratives that exist within, around, under and/or in opposition to the patriarchal hierarchy present in art institutions."
