Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife issued its first order and permit to kill up to 4 wolves this year in early April, after wolves in Eastern Oregon’s newest wolf pack, the Pine Creek Pack, killed three calves and injured four more in Baker County. This kill order was given in spite of the fact that Oregon’s wolf population increased by just 12 confirmed animals in 2017, while there has been nearly a 30 percent reduction in wolf-livestock conflicts, the ODFW issued an So far three wolves have been killed.
