Aera Atkins,a Hood River Wwoof-host, and two of her Wwoofers, Ari Farrell, and Ricky Connelly, discuss their experiences

World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms, aka Willing Workers on Organic Farms, (or  just plain WWOOF),  is a worldwide movement that links volunteers with organic farmers and growers. The idea is to promote cultural and educational experiences based on trust and non-monetary exchange, and in this way help to build a sustainable, global community. Aera Atkins was a part of WWOOF when it began in England back in the 70's, and for the past 9 years she has been a Wwoofer-host at Rahane Forest Farm in Hood River valley.  She and two of her Wwoofer volunteers, Ari Farrell, 25, from Rockville, Maryland, and Ricky Connelly, 27, from Denville, New Jersey, will talk with host Stephanie Potter about  how and why to be a Wwoofer.
