On Wednesday, July 25 the President sent out three Tweets announcing he was shifting previous policy in the armed forces of greater openness and inclusivity regarding Trans service members. Citing unit cohesiveness and cost of medical procedures the President declared that he was in effect banning Transgender personnel from servin openly in the US armed forces.
We will discuss what this means practically for Trans active service members and what we can do as a community to fight back against the torrent of hatred and Transphobia that the President has unleashed with his announcement.
