GOOD PEOPLE! we at 'guess who's coming to radio??!!' will be doing the first membership drive special since our hiatus, in honor of none other than HERBIE HANCOCK!!! from his time with miles davis, to the mwandishi era to causing an even further stir with the headhunters, to 'rock(in') it' and back; herbie has transcended music genres for over 50 years by meshing funk, hip hop, electronic/dance, classical, and more, with a spiritual and traditional jazz sensibility.
herbie has changed our lives tremendously. despite hearing his music for years prior; if it wasn't for being a wide-eyed teenager with a 'sponge' sensibility when it came to music, we would not have been open to the opportunities a song like 'maiden voyage' gave in expanding our appreciation for the art. after hearing that 'tone poem', life was never the same for us.
we would never make sense for us to NOT honor herbie!!!
