What is Oregon doing to improve access to health care?
In 2007, the Oregon legislature
passed the Senate Bill 329, the Healthy Oregon Act, creating the Oregon Health
Fund Board. The seven-member board is charged with developing a comprehensive
plan to ensure access for all Oregonians, contain costs and address quality of
health care issues. The board has been holding community meetings around the
state on what health care reform should look like. Hosts Jo Ann and Dave will be
talking with Carol Robinson, executive director of the Oregon Health Forum,
about what progress the board has made and what obstacles remain to fixing
Oregon's health care crisis. What do you think health care reform should look
like? How would you improve access while containing costs? Let us hear your
thoughts on this important issue.
