A podcast featuring audio drama, dark comedy, & other unexpected vignettes from Corvallis & beyond.
This is episode 12 of The Spirit of the Forest, an audio drama / dark comedy that reflects upon the sadness, absurdity, and normalcy of modern life, created by Corvallis resident Dan Crall.

On this edition, we commence with some obtuse voicemail transmissions, we visit a park near the edge of the forest where mass realization is occurring that peace and quiet are diminishing, and a man's search for jellybeans fails.  We continue with an audio collage called "Mixed Messages" by audio artist Michael Pounds, we hear a brief reminiscing about ripping off or being ripped off by BMG Music and Columbia House's multiple CDs for a penny deal, just before a neighborhood realization of the distressed bellows of a goat.  As the episode meanders to a close, Jean Gibson reflects upon wind's effects on wind chimes, Chris Fox shares a reflection of Astoria, Oregon, then we hear it - the Spirit of the Forest.

Featuring the voices of Cheyne Willems, various voicemail callers, Dan Crall, Chris Fox, John Crall, Jean Gibson, neighbor John, and the musical / sonic contributions of Michael Pounds, the Bran Flakes, the Lube City Ramblers, Jeph Jerman, and Milieu, this episode was mostly recorded around May 2015 in Corvallis, Oregon; though bits of the audio come from different times and places.
