Why there is no technological fix for the damage we have done to the planet
Tom Becker reads from Zoë Carpenter's article in The Nation, "We Cannot Geoengineer Our Way Out of the Climate Crisis."
Carpenter argues that attempts by humans to change the climate (such as shooting a huge amount of sulfur dioxide into the stratosphere to deflect sunlight) are so fraught with unpredictable consequences that it would be insane to make the attempt. Yet the attempt may become necessary if we don't reduce CO2 emissions.
