In the past week, we’ve seen a nation wide campaign to evict protestors from the Occupy encampments, including the mass arrests in Zucotti Park at the heart of the Occupy Wall Street Movement. Locally, Portlanders came out in force to support the Occupy movement on Saturday, November 12th, with the announcement of a midnite eviction by Mayor Sam Adams. Thousands rallied in the streets to show support and delay an eviction.
With recent events, many are asking, What’s next for the movement?
Tonight on Circle A Radio, we focus on political analysis and the economics that gave rise to this historic movement – the financial crisis caused by Wall Street and the financial institutions it represents. We’ll hear from Canadian Economist Jim Stanford, labor activist Christina Towne, and professor, activist, and long time critic of capitalism, Noam Chomsky. We will also hear audio recorded on Saturday November 12th, into the hours of the 13th, recorded in Portland.
