Celebrating International Women’s Month, ADN presents a deep listening program of the music of Pauline Oliveros. Pauline started as an accordion player in Texas, later became a pioneer in early tape music and electronic compositions in the 1960s, composed minimalist orchestral music, and explored harmonics and echo effects in large cavernous environments such as water tanks and cathedrals. We’ll hear a little bit of all of these styles, accordions, bandoneons, harmoniums, drums, tapes, singers, and one mynah bird joining in.
