Queer Culture

This week celebrates the Second Annual Transgender Week of Celebration by the City of Portland and Multnomah County!

On tonight's show, we highlight two local events in the rainbow community that welcome everyone!

Joe LeBlanc and Stephen Cassell talk about QPatrol. The QPatrol is on the streets of Portland to prevent violence against our community. This patrol is a result of community involvement and brainstorming after recent gay bashings. It's important to report all hate crimes so law enforcement knows what's really going on. You can report a hate crime anytime online at  www.doj.state.or.us/hate_crime_report.shtml

Music break from The Cliks "I'm Not Your Boy". The Cliks are playing an all-ages show at Peter's Room at The Roseland on August 18th.

Next, we heard from Jessamyn Rae and Christy Sowers about the upcoming Gender Free for All Trans Week of Celebration Rally happening Saturday Aug 7th from 4 to 7pm @ Unthank Park in Portland.

Tune in to Out Loud next week to hear about how gender and sexual orientation are connected to human trafficing and sex crimes.

You can connect with Out Loud Radio on Facebook. We recruit!

Thanks for listening. Until next time, stay proud and live out loud.
