You are invited to join us on Transpositive PDX this Tuesday,  November 17th at 6pm on KBOO Community Radio 90.7 FM as we celebrate the living and remember our dead. We will be joined by Rabbi Ariel Stone, Reverend Bill Sinkford, Ellen Simmons, Steve Cromer and other participants in this month's upcoming Transgender Day of Remembrance Interfaith Vigil, an annual observance of the Transgender Day of Remembrance by people of faith, that honors the memory of those whose lives were lost in anti-transgender violence.

Due to Covid-19 concerns the TDOR Interfatih Vigil will take place this year online on Thursday, November 19th at 7pm live on zoom with participation by representatives of the Jewish, Methodist, Unitarian, Muslim, Buddhist, Quaker and Pagan traditions.  The event will also feature words of support from City Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty and a keynote delivered by Devon Davis and Lisa Kuhnhaussen, mother of Nikki Kuhnhaussen, a transgender teenager from Vancouver, WA who was murdered last year.  To register for the TDOR Interfaith Vigil please visit tinyurl.com/interfaithtdor

In this interview we will be talking with representatives of various faith traditions on how their traditions support and uplift the voices of transgender and non-binary people.  We will also be addressing ways in which religious traditions both scar and distance transgender, non-binary and queer through religious doctrine, social stigma, rejection and isolation and what it means to be a welcoming tradition that works in support of transgender, nonbinary and queer voices.

Transpositive is a monthly program in Portland exploring themes important to those who identify as Transgender, Gender Non Binary and Gender Non-Conforming. Transpositive tries to connect listeners with the ongoing activist, arts, culture, and dialogue happening in Portland and beyond.
