The Immigration and Customs Enforcement prison in Tacoma Washington has asked the federal government for funding to increase the prison’s capacity.

KBOO’s Sam Theobald went to a recent protest outside the facility, and brings us some of the sounds of the Mother’s Day Vigil for immigrant rights.

That was a recording from the Mother’s Day vigil for Immigrant Rights, held outside the Immigrant prison in Tacoma Washington.

A Seattle University study found that multiple human and constitutional rights are routinely violated in the prison, which is run by private contractor Geo. 

Despite the many grievances, Geo has received ongoing federal contracts worth five hundred eighty eight million dollars.
