Bill Resnick interviews John Bellamy Foster, Professor of Sociology at the University of Oregon, and author of many books, including The Robbery of Nature and The Return of Nature. He edits the journal Monthly Review, making it into a go-to source for thinking about climate change, the inability of capitalism to respond, that we need revolutionary change, and what can be done to make that revolution before it is too late. In his latest essay in Monthly Review, “On Fire This Time,” Bellamy Foster examines our current period, seeing in it the beginnings of an ecological revolution, and he speculates on the likely future, how that revolution will develop.
