In 1970 George Crumb wrote Black Angels for “amplified” string quartet and percussion, a protest piece against the Vietnam war.  Recently performed at the Makrokosmos Festival, scaring many of youthful age, we believe the time is ripe to celebrate Mr. Crumb’s career. Witness: Vox Balaenae (re: whale hunting), Madrigals, Dream Sequences, The Night of the Four Moons, Otherworldly Resonances, and the truly astonishing Ancient Voices of Children, based on poems by Federico Garcia Lorca. Please join the ADN collective for this long overdue celebration of George Crumb and his singular musical world.
