Very much appreciated your deliberative invitation to your listeners to discuss the elections returns last night. This kind of sober and circumspect Public Interest Radyo is all too rare, even on community and college radio.

Apologies for erring during my call on the Cockburn brother partnered to investigative journalist hero of mine (in press, print, TV, Film) for some 30 years, Leslie Cockburn. She is married and collaborates in her work with Andrew Cockburn, not Patrick. All 3 Cockburn brothers, however, along with Leslie Cockburn have spent decades of thankless research and brave reporting on Daddy Warbucks aka the Eisenhower-coined Presidential warning about the "Military Industrial Complex."

Anyone serious about the corporate-capture of what little Public Interest broadcast news has ever existed in the U.S. understands the career risks any journalist runs by pursuing the remaining taboo subjects of the Global Arms trade, policy outcomes of the Neo-Liberal E-CONomics Revolution (that was not televised) and the impossible to cleanly quantify levels of corruption and their socio-economic effects in any government on any culture or society. The Cockburns' analysis and reportage deserve our attention simply for surviving in the face of such antagonism and hostility emanating from the Corporate Caliphate and Feudal Lords of High Tech and Finance.

What mystifies me, as I expressed in our on-air chat, is the silence on the Campaign of Character Assassination in Leslie Cockburn's first political campaign in her home state of Virginia, orchestrated by my own misguided Jewish Diaspora community. Presumably these allegations of her Anti-Semitism (that term so often is used inaccurately when the accusers claim a bias in favor of Arabs or other Semites like Amharic Ethiopians besides Jews) have been organized by well-funded Zionist organizations believing they are aiding the state of Israel and its national security by silencing even Israeli Whistle Blowers (who have been for decades valuable and not at all anonymous sources in the Cockburns' journalism and Janes Defence Weekly for that matter).

Most creepy has been the silence of indy so-called progressive Public Interest media, like another journalistic hero's legacy now edited by his son, Robert Parry's Consortium News web-site and the nationally distributed Pacifica Radio network of community radio stations that produce and air Democracy Now, Flashpoints, Sonali Kolhatkar's Uprisings daily program and Esther Iverem's On The Ground. Where have YouTube's The Young Turks been during this Character Assassination of such an accomplished journalist whose work has been proven well-targeted given the current global state of concentrations of wealth in the fewest hands and off-shore accounts that have been widely and accurately described as returning U.S. to a new Feudal (Authoritarian Oligarch) Age.

It is worth going back 10 years to the CSPAN interview with the Cockburns, upon the release of their documentary film AMERICAN CASINO, uninterrupted by corporate underwriters' commercials so ubiquitous on OPB\NPR\PBS programming and they never challenge the de facto Corporate Caliphate dictates or discuss the Wage Slaves toiling and committing suicide at record levels due to the Neo-Liberal E-CON doctrines by now the litmus test for our elected or selected Public Servants or hand-maids to the Oligarchs and Feudal Lords:

As for the shonda\scandal of Leslie Cockburn's character assassination in her campaign for elected office in Virginia, compare the NYT coverage with CSPAN's provision of the Cockburns' unadulterated investigative reporting following the money into the board rooms and back rooms where the House Rules of our American Casino are set and ruthlessly enforced. Anti-Semitism as a charge should be more specific with a fractured Jewish Diaspora matched only by a fractured Arab and Islamic Umma and even Ethiopia's recent reconciliation with decades-long border enemy Eritrea.
