Joe Clement and Denise Morris review the 1989 weird horror film, Society. Directed by Brian Yuzna, it stars Billy Warlock as Bill Whitney, an upper-class teenager growing up in Beverly Hills, California. He feels alienated and disconnected from his family, and suffers from nightmarish daydreams and hallucinations. When he goes to his therapist, the therapist tries to assure him that his fears are normal if irrational. When a mysterious tape reveals the rest of his family to be part of an incestuous cult, an even deeper and insidious conspiracy of the rich consuming the lower classes comes to light. Joe and Denise consider elements of teen angst, family drama, pseudo-alien conspiracy, and fiendish class warfare. Watch the trailer.
