Quinn Costello talks about his documentary Rodents of Unusual Size about nutria with S.W. Conser on KBOO's The Film Show
A longer conversation with filmmaker Quinn Costello about how the nutria is changing the language of the Gulf coast

In this extended interview with Quinn Costello, co-director (along with Chris Metzler and Jeff Springer) of the documentary Rodents of Unusual Size, we learn more about his travels in Louisiana learning about local culture and the role of the nutria.  We also hear about his friendship with legendary filmmaker Les Blank.  Rodents of Unusual Size will be featured on PBSIndependent Lens in early 2019.

Also, the Northwest Film Center's Ben Popp introduces us to two up-and-coming directors whose works are screening at the 45th Northwest Filmmakers' Festival.  Edward Pack Davee's narrative feature Lost Division, years in the making, is inspired by World War II diaries and shot in part on vintage combat cameras.  And Paula Bernstein's Sole Doctor is a slice-of-life short documentary about a cobbler whose shoe-repair shop has been a Portland mainstay for half a century.
