A 24-hour vigil outside of the Immigration Processing facility in Portland that began on Sunday continued through today.

Protesters say they will remain indefinitely, until the Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, decides to end its so-called ‘zero tolerance policy’ and the city of Portland stops coordinating with ICE.

A candlelight vigil and rally was held last night at the Occupy Ice PDX encampment. KBOO was there, and recorded the voices of some of those who spoke.

The protesters say they plan to keep up the vigil as long as it takes, until ICE leaves Portland and stops the ‘zero tolerance policy’.

The building leased by ICE is located at forty three ten Southwest Macadam Avenue in Portland.

There will be another rally and vigil this evening at 8:30 pm, and supporters are taking volunteer shifts to maintain a 24-hour presence at the site.
