As winter drizzles on, there are two golden opportunities this month to get out and see the world without leaving Oregon: the Cascade Festival of African Films and the Portland International Film Festival.

Ben Popp has been gathering together regional filmmakers for the annual Made in Oregon programs at PIFF.  Two of those filmmakers join us in the studio: Dawn Jones Redstone, whose new short film We Have Our Ways imagines a near future ruled by authoritarian corporations, and Greg Hamilton and Ira Flowers, whose documentary Thou Shall Not Tailgate profiles Portland art-car fabricator Rev Chuck Linville.

Also joining us by phone is Ronna Neuenschwander, to tell us about the special events and guests appearing at the Cascade Festival of African Films.
