Happy New Year! It is time for a new year and Transpositive PDX is kicking it off this year with our annual Trans Arts showcase. Kicking off the show will be Transpose, a Transgender Acapella choir performing live in studio, singer/songwriter Davis Schaffer and Tattoo Artist Redd, a member of the Queer Tatto Alliance. We will also be joined collective members Nicolette Sandra James, Aiden Vargas, Leidi Monte who will be performing spoken word and music as well and regular collective members Jean Bryant, Emma Lugo and Guinevere de Amblia and may also be joined by Shamay Groman.

The Trans Arts Showcase is an opportunity to highlight the creative work of writers, musicians, artists, and cultural creatives who identify as queer/non binary/intersex. In addition to our live air we will be recording a podcast for performances that are not airable by FCC standards on our podcast version of the show.

About the Performers:

Transpose was founded with the concept that community should always come first, Transpose is an 18+ non-auditioned chorus that meets weekly on Tuesdays. We are composed of both performing and non-performing members. Key of Q is our smaller auditioned a capella group that meets on Thursdays. We will present the first concert of our 2017-2018 season entitled Changes on January 21st, 2018 at 4pm at Bridgeport UCC (621 NE 76th Ave, Portland). If you are interested in joining, supporting, or just learning more about the group, you can find us on Facebook as Transpose PDX or email us at transposepdx@gmail.com."

Redd is a genderqueer artist and Portland local as well as the founder and head artist of Happy Camper Tattoo - a small, neighborhood tattoo shop located in the Foster Row Artists Collective. We were founded by queer tattoo artists who believe in the power of self expression and the living, ever evolving art of tattoos. As part of the Queer Tattoo Alliance, we celebrate the bravery and unique voices within our community. You can find us at HappyCampertattoo.com or call 971 266 0936 for more information.
