Los Straitjackets visit the BOO to discuss their new album of Nick Lowe tunes, and local musicians play some, too.
To celebrate the first day of KBOO's Fall Membership Drive, The Songcircle welcomes members of the celebrated, Mexican-wrestler-masked instrumental outfit to talk about their recent album of Nick Lowe covers, What's So Funny About Peace, Love and Los Straitjackets. Portland artists Randall Payton (of Chez Stadium, available on Bandcamp) and Todd Lawrence (a.k.a. Milo Binder) will also stop by to play their favorite Lowe tunes live on air, and we'll hear some of the best of this beloved songwriter's own recordings from throughout his long career and covers by the likes of Johnny Cash and Mavis Staples. Featuring Straitjackets and Lowe CDs as thank-you gifts for your KBOO membership!
