As the 70-year-old National Cartoonists Society meets in Portland, we talk with two honorees, R.C. Harvey and David Silverman
The National Cartoonists Society has been honoring cartoonists, animators and comics artists since 1946, and has finally brought their Reuben Awards event to Portland. Author and "comics chronicler" R.C. Harvey joins us to talk about the history and the changes within the society over the years, and animation director (and multiple Reuben honoree) David Silverman recounts his career as one of the original Simpsons animators duing his visit to the hometown of Matt Groening.
