Exploring political, social and cultural issues affecting Palestine/Israel.

Today we feature a special program produced by KBOO for the collaborative 12-station broadcast that took place on May 15th, in commemoration of the Nakba, the Palestinian Catastrophe when hundred of thousands were expelled from their homes in 1948.

This hour focuses on the current, ongoing hunger strike by over 1500 Palestinian political prisoners. The hunger strikers have been without food, living on only water and salt, for over a month.

On this show, we speak with Israeli activist and author Miko Peled, author of The General's Son. We also have an interview with Raed Amer, of the Prisoner Support Committee in Nablus.

In addition, we speak with Maru Mora Villapondo, with the group in Washington State that is supporting hunger strikers there, about the connections between the Palestinians on hunger strike, and immigrants in the US striking for an end to deportations and for better conditions in the ICE detention facilities.
