A podcast. About activism. In Portland.

Updated Thursday, May 4th

Another week, another calendar. This week: the Climate March! And May Day! Take a deep breath, it's spring, and that means some *serious* activism.

For more information on any of these events or up-to-the-minute event finds, check https://pdxactivist.org/ or https://www.facebook.com /portlandresistancecalendar

Many thanks, as always, to Ismoon who always uses her librarian powers for good, and to Joe Frazier of Joe Frazier Photo who takes very good photos and is kind enough to share them.

Calls to Action!

Clackamas County & the Immigrant & Refugee resolution

Clackamas County is the third-largest county in Oregon. The County Commission is considering a resolution supporting Immigrants and Refugees and will be discussed on May 2nd.
There is considerable opposition as much of the county is conservative and rural. We are currently asking residents and interested parties email the commission their support.
Send your emails of support to the Commission at bcc@clackamas.us and copy campaign@clackamasdems.org - More info: http://www.clackamasdems.org/weve-got-their-back/

Luis Barrios Deportation

Please take a minute to call the ICE office in Hartford, CT at 860-240-3012.

Luis Barrios (A# 070-892-693) faces deportation on May 4. He was taken into custody because of a broken tail light. Luis has lived in Connecticut for 25 years. He has 4 children who are US citizens. He has no criminal record. His life could be in danger if he is deported to Guatemala. Please take action to protect Luis before it's too late.
