Family and Friends

Tuesday, April 11 6pm 90.7FM KBOO Community Radio online at kboo.fm or transpositive.wordpress.com. This week on Transpositive co-host Jean Bryant and the collective will continue our Trans Family and Friends series with a look at the experiences of the parents of a 19 year old transwoman. Transitioning is hard enough in a culture where Trans folks are fighting for their basic civil rights. It is all too common for persons in transition to lose their friends, their family, their entire support network. In this series we will be exploring the ones who stay, most often friends but also sometimes family who stay and fully support and nurture the lives of people in transition. We don't transition alone, and those who support us have their own struggles and stories. We will be honoring those personal stories, and discussing how they reflect on us. The full hour-long story of these parents is available for download in podcast. Please check out the Transpositive Podcast at transpositive.wordpress.com for the most recent and past episodes online.
