Join us for an illuminating discussion this week on Transpositive PDX.  In honor of Women's Day we will be discussing transfeminism and why trans exclusionary radical feminism is damaging to trans women and women generally.  We will also be discussing the #notmypresident's recent executive order to force trans gender kids to use the bathrooms which do not match their gender identities, an order which will result in kids being harassed and assaulted in school.  We will be talking with local and national experts on this radical assault on the most vulnerable in our communities and what we can do to fight back.

Join us will be Andrea Haverkamp who is a doctoral student at Oregon State University within Environmental Engineering and Queer Studies where she studies the intersections of gender, social identities, theories of feminism, and systems of power and oppression. She integrates a rural Kansas upbringing, experiences in both federal government engineering and activist communities, and life as a transgender person into her work.

Gigi Cassell, a transwoman who was born in Idaho by raised in Oregon.  At four her parents divorced and she was harassed growing up because she had asperger syndrome.  Her mom died when she was 18 and she moved to Portland and began exploring her gender identity.  After her grandmother died she started on HRT and since then has become the first trans woman to have her facial feminization surgery covered by OHP but only after an extensive fight for her rights.  She will be talking about how her experience can help other transwomen.

Paula Overby is a frequent public speaker and educator.  She will be discussing the issues related to the recent announcement by the #notmypresident administration that trans kids will no longer be protected under federal law regarding use of public facilities in our nation's public schools.  She will be discussing the implications for trans kids and we will talking about what we can do to fight back and protect our kids.

Transpositive airs on Tuesday, March 7 at 6:00pm Pacitic Time on 90.7fm KBOO in Portland, Oregon.  it can also be heard online at kboo.fm.  Previous broadcasts can be heard on our podcast at transpositive.wordress.com.  We will also be airing on Wednesday, March 8th at 11:30am - Noon  for the Women's Day program on KBOO discussing transfeminism and women's rights.  Hope you can join us.
