Supporters of “The Seriously Pissed-off Grannies” have cause to celebrate today. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office">

One year after locking themselves to a World War 2 tank in last year's Rose Festival Parade, Grannies Sara Graham and Bonnie Tinker, had the charges against them dismissed.

The case was dismissed because the District Attorney’s office had scheduled the police to appear to testify on the wrong day.

Tinker and Graham were originally charges with interfering with a parade.

When it was discovered that evidently there is no law against “interfering with a parade”, the charges were changed to “disorderly conduct in the second degree”.

The two activists would have testified that their actions were directly tied to freedom of speech.

Graham said that after unsuccessfully trying to persuade the Rose Festival not to include a tank, she felt she had no alternative but to protest.
