What we learn about elections from the 2004 film
Jan Haaken and Denise Morris revisit the 2004 remake of the 1962 movie, The Manchurian Candidate to talk about presidential elections and political paranoia in Hollywood films cinema. The two versions of the film, based on the novel by Richard Condon, each register periods of political crisis in the U.S. and the rise of conspiratorial and paranoid modes of discourse.
