Today was the first day of scheduled evictions of houseless people who have been living along Portland Oregon's Springwater Corridor Trail for more than a year. After delayed for a month, police and community advocates began moving along the 21-mile trail moving the indigent out of the area. Meanwhile, residents, law enforcement and the media will saturate the corridor for at least the next week. There were lots of stories heard and to be told, and Don Merrill was there to do both.
