The first month's episode of "Poetry and Everything," a new show hosted by Portland writer Judith Arcana, was enthusiastically dedicated - by both Judith and her guest, Harold Johnson - to Barbara LaMorticella, who was a monthly KBOO poetry host for many years.

Harold Johnson's a lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest, born in Yakima during the Great Depression.  Since college, he's lived in Portland - except for two years between the Korean and Vietnam wars, when he was a bandsman in the US army, an experience that provided the seeds for his new novel. Harold's a musician, an artist, a teacher - and a writer of both poetry and prose.  On "Poetry and Everything" he read from - and talked about - his recent poetry collection, CITIZENSHIP (2014) and his novel, THE FORT SHOWALTER BLUES (2016).
