Radio Lost and Found on 05/12/16

Here we meet again, in the context of honoring those who have transcended- those who have created a major cultural impact in many of our lives.  This will most likely take a while to register.  While many a tribute have focused on Prince Rogers Nelson's major hits and most notable tracks, we want to honor him in the tradition of 'guess who's coming to radio??!!': focusing on his jazz sensibilities, and diverse artistry.  Not only did the man officially release 39 albums under his name, but he released many more projects under different names, as well as collaborations.  As usual, the man did not get enough credit for the bulk of his work, by the general public.  He consistently created, whether or not we knew about it. 

We have done shows honoring Prince over the years, with only a couple of hours to merely explore the surface of the vast range of his work.  Five hours doesn't even cover enough ground, but hopefully what we do will further shine a light on this 'musician's musician'- a man who consistently worked at assuring he maintained creative control, and openly fought for it.  Along these lines, his music explored asking questions of the self, of society, and of working to find the balance between one's life on earth and the spiritual self.  In between the music will be the voices of those showing their appreciation for Mr. Nelson's contributions to music, and their lives.
