Israeli peace activist Jeff Halper spoke on his new book War Against the People: Israel, the Palestinians and Global Pacification in Portland at the First United Methodist Church on Tuesday, February 23rd. We'll hear an excerpt of his talk.
Jeff Halper is co-founder of the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions (ICAHD). An Israeli peace activist, Jeff is now writing and talking on how Israel is "globalizing Palestine". Through sales of weapons and military technology that has been "tested" on the Palestinians, Israel is taking its "war against the people" to a new global level.
Jeff will be speaking here in Portland on a book tour for his recently published book: War Against the People: Israel, the Palestinians and Global Pacification (Pluto Press/University of Chicago, 2015). Books will be for sale at the Portland event.
Jeff Halper is well-known for his activism “on the ground” in support of Palestinian rights and a just peace as well as his incisive analysis of the political situation in Israel/Palestine. The long-time head of the Israel Committee Against House Demolitions (ICAHD) and the author of An Israeli in Palestine and Obstacles to Peace, he brings critical, up-to-date, grounded and constructive analyses of the Palestine/Israel situation.
