Queer news & culture for a greater Oregon.

This week on Out Loud, The Clackamas Community College Theatre Director, James Eikrem, and the CCC’s Set Designer, Stage Manager, and Artist in Residence, will be joining us to discuss the CCC production of The Laramie Project by Moisés Kaufman and directed by  Eikrem. The show dates are February 26-March 8th.  The Laramie Project was created by Tectonic Theater Company in the aftermath of Matthew Shepard’s 1998 murder;  Shepard was a gay college student who was found brutally beaten and left for dead, tied to a buck fence, on the outskirts of Laramie, WY.

CCC Theatre is bringing in Susan Burk, the outreach specialist from The Matthew Shepard Foundation, to lead talk-back panel discussions after two of our performances on March 6th and 7th, as well as sponsoring an “Erase Hate” panel discussion at Clackamas Community College at 1pm on March 6th. The talk-back panel discussions will include members of our cast, as well as community members and members of some of the LGBTQ communities in Clackamas County and Portland.

We'll also chat with Thomas of Wild Planet Radio, to update us on how the launch of Portland's new fm queer radio station is coming along!
