Dele Balogun of the African Heritage Delegation to Palestine and Natasha Carmi-Hanna Water Advisor
One Land Many Voices welcomes guests Dele Balogun and Natasha Carmi-Hanna.
Between October 26th - Nov 7th, 2014, Balogun traveled with the African Heritage Delegation ( a group led and organized by Interfaith Peace-builders) on an intensive learning-tour of the West Bank and East Jerusalem. The mission was to gain on-the-ground understanding of the occupation as experienced by Palestinians and to learn about the different methods and strategies of resistance. Balogun and the delegation came back with dramatic stories of hope and struggle, and an analysis which contributes considerably to shedding light on the similarities of experiences between African Americans and Palestinians.
Carmi-Hanna is a Palestinian hydrologist trained at Imperial College in London. She works as a policy advisor on Water and the Environment for the Negotiations Support Project, a project of the UN Development Program for Assistance to the Palestinian People. Carmi-Hanna talks about the particular challenges and obstacles facing Palestinians with respect to access and use of freshwater resources in Palestine.
