Out Loud welcomes Basic Rights Oregon and Portland State University's Queer Resource Center
Every year in November, people gather to remember and celebrate the lives of transgender members of our community who have been killed. November 20 is known as International Transgender Day of Remembrance. Communities across the country and around the world participate. Tonight we welcome guests from Basic Rights Oregon and Portland State University's Queer Resource Center.

Basic Rights Oregon's Transgender Day of Remembrance website includes a history of this international day of awareness, and it features a list of events from around Oregon.

This year during the month of November, students at Portland State University have been hosting events. The Trans Empowerment Resistance and Resilience Days include a trans-inclusive fitness group, movie screenings, workshops, panels and more.

This Wednesday, Nov 19 at the Smith Union Ballroom at PSU, the Queer Resource Center is hosing Trans In/Justice, a panel discussion among those on the front lines of trans justice. Doors at 6:30pm.
