Out Loud : queer culture radio every Tuesday from 6 to 7pm
For tonight’s show, we opened up the KBOO archives and sifted through past Out Loud radio shows. We’re sharing some past radio shows to honor a couple of the many community members who have been guests on our show.

Before we get to our show this evening, we’d like to encourage you to connect with us online.
Our email is OutLoudRadio@gmail.com
You can also find is on Facebook at KBOOOutLoud and look for the same on Twitter. That is K-B-O-O-OutLoud on Facebook and Twitter.

Tonight’s first segment from the KBOO archives is a news story from October 1991. Andy Simon was a longtime KBOO Volunteer with the Old Mole Variety Show, which airs Monday mornings. Andy visited the 1991 celebration for National Coming Out Day and talked with participants to bring you this story.

Our next segment is from an Out Loud show that aired in June 2008. Carla interviewed youth and adults who attended the Queer Core Youth Awards at Portland’s Q Center. These awards were hosted by the Equity Foundation and the Oregon Safe Schools and Communities Coalition.

Carla also spoke with youth who attended the SYMRC Prom that happened the same evening. Stay tuned to hear from youth activists speaking about what’s important to them.

In the second half of our show tonight, we feature This Way Out, the international lesbian and gay news magazine.

Thanks for listening. Until next time, stay proud, and live out loud!
