Out Loud on KBOO - music & art created from going through'gay restorative' therapy;' and queer scifi

Jason Ingram, survivor of ex-gay restorative therapy, joins us to discuss and perform from his multi-media presentation about his experiences. He leads us into the local community that works to embrace and heal those who have gone through this so-called therapy. Jason has been able to describe his experiences for others through song and performance, with a great deal of compassion.

We'll also talk with Melinda Williams and Kim Schmucker, participants in the Queer/Feminist Science Fiction Book Group taht meets monthly at In Other Words Bookstore. We'll talk about what makes science fiction a body of literature that can open doors for queer and feminist ideas and experience. One of the authors that's sure to come up: the amazing Samuel Delany, a black gay man who just woman a Master Award from SF&F Writers of America.
