Rethinking Research Nev Jones
Traditional mental health research treats patients more as objects to be studied, rather than individuals with valuable insights and perspectives. What if research on mental health was informed by people who themselves had had these experiences? How can people diagnosed with schizophrenia, who hear voices, and experience psychosis, help to change the way we understand and respond to these experiences? Discussing these questions and more will be Nev Jones, psychiatric anthropology interdisciplinary researcher, post-doctorate fellow at Stanford, founder of Chicago Hearing Voices and co-founder of the Lived Experience Research Network (LERN).
