*March Forth Marching Band

With a rallying cry of “JOY NOW!” MarchFourth Marching Band (known as M4 by its growing legion of fans) throws itself and the audience into a swirling volcano of high-energy music and spectacle. What began as a Fat Tuesday party on March 4, 2003 in Portland, Oregon has become one of the nation’s best live touring acts.

Aside from the band’s marching band themed costumes, percussion corps and brass, M4 is far from a “marching band” in any traditional sense (though the band has been known to parade down Main Street before taking the stage). M4 is anchored by funky electric bass, and has been evolving into a more guitar- and vocal-driven musical experience. In one 90-minute set the band will take you on a journey from the swamps of Louisiana to the gypsy camps of eastern Europe to the African jungle by way of Brazil, along the way stopping to sample the deepest grooves of the best of American funk, rock, jazz and boiling it all together in cinematic fashion with high-stepping stilt-acrobatics and sexy dancers. This genre-busting approach is usually the territory of DJs, but this band is real people making music and art in real time—and every show is different.

M4 provides the opportunity to come together in joyous union with a band whose mission is to seize the moment, bring communities together, and leave everyone feeling as if the world is a better place.

*Vibesquad

VibeSquaD, a musical juggernaut and fearless vanguard in a flourishing scene. Circling the globe with his wholly original brand of bass exploration, VibeSquaD is reaching wider and wider audiences with his studio tracks and out-of-control live shows.

The VibeSquaD sound is a sonic culmination of decades of experimentation, innovation, and a propensity for what’s next. The 2006 inception of VibeSquaD at Symbiosis put Holstein at the forefront of the burgeoning bass craze. VibeSquaD has maintained his position, poised on the cusp of the next big sound while staying true to his unique voice. Over time, Holstein has carved out a distinctive niche, which blends his love for all things bass music, with the funk obsession of his youth. This bouncy, glitched-up, and wobbled-out style is most apparent on his latest EP, RemixMashers Vol. 1, which opens with a rehashing of Sly & the Family Stone’s “Family Affair.” With four full-lengths, three EPs, and a slew of remixes out on forward-thinking labels Muti Music, Interchill, and Proboscis, Holstein is as prolific as he is a pioneer.

That being said, studio tracks can’t begin to prepare fans for VibeSquaD’s outrageous live performances. Bobbing up and down uncontrollably, arms raised with a permagrin plastered across his face, Holstein hits the stage full throttle, and doesn’t let up until every last spot on the floor is packed with bodies exhausted from a marathon dance session.

*Ott

Ott was doomed to be a teenager in the cultural wasteland that was the mid-1980s provincial England. After a brief period wandering aimlessly through the hairsprayed deserts of New Romanticism and poodle-rock he found refuge in the warm, inviting sounds of Scientist, King Tubby, LKJ, and Prince Far-I and the effortless grace of European experimentalists Neu! andKraftwerk. Here he stayed until he felt it was safe to pop his head up again.

The end of the 1980s brought with it a cultural and musical revolution and Ott headed to London to immerse himself in the new energy. Initially unimpressed by the frantic, unmusical clatterings of acid house and “rave” he discovered a new wave of artists who apparently shared his love of organic dub and pristine electronics. Artists such as The Orb, Dub Syndicate, FSOL and African Head Charge. These were people who were unafraid to combine bass-heavy rhythm, abstract soundscape and timeless melody into a huge, ever-shifting sonic universe which reflected perfectly the spirit of hope and positivity which prevailed.

*Phutureprimitive

Phutureprimitive music is singular and unique in its approach: Lush melodies drift across intricate rhythms, groove heavy beats and warm, fuzzy bass lines. Often exploring a dark and dense palette, his music also manages to convey a sense of tranquility and beauty, engaging the listener into hypnotic movement and often escalating toward a full kinetic experience. Conceived and produced in a digital environment, his music manages to convey more humanity and organic warmth then typically found in an often cold and sterile genre. Shimmering with cinematic qualities, his music ultimately speaks to both the mind and the body.

His second full-length release “Kinetik” pushes his sound into new territories of emotional electronic dance music, exploring a heavier, bass-centric sound that adds raw energy to the meticulously detailed tracks this trusted producer is so well known for.

Constantly defying convention, the Phutureprimitive sound is not solidly rooted in anysingle genre nor easily defined, but draws influences from many sub-genres including Downtempo ,Glitch Hop, Dubstep, Breaks, Trip Hop, and more.

*Govinda

Govinda is the alter-ego of Austin based producer/composer Shane Madden. Hebegan studying violin and composition at the age of eight and went on to study classical violin at the University of Texas where he fell in love with electronic music production. It was in Madden’s pursuit of his gypsy roots that he opened his ears to music from around the world. From experiences learning violin with mysterious masters on his journeys across the globe and his passion for modern design and technology, the current sound of Govinda was born.

The Govinda live show is truly a multi-sensory experience that features professional dancers, live projections, resonating vocals and a sonical sound-scape. His live experience is full of vibrant energy that plays to its crowd. Govinda performs on Ableton Live accompanied by classical violin. Govinda is currently touring in support of his album “Universal On Switch” which was released independently earlier this year.

*Kaminanda
Coming from the mossy forests of the Northern Lands on the west coast of Elven Country, Kaminanda's ever evolving sound is a playground of original deep Midtempo grooves, tribal rhythms, creative trip hop, complex Dub and lush downtempo textures. Playing live sets with guitar, keyboards, flutes, melodica, and vocals, Kaminanda's music is designed to take the listener/dancer on a journey traversing diverse landscapes reflecting the evolution of our collective consciousness.

Having shared his creations at electronic music festivals such as Entheos, Shambhala, Basscoast, Diversity, Beloved, LIB, Burning Man and Earthdance, Kaminanda's ever evolving sound is a kaleidoscope of warm melodies andtwisting, winding compositions. With a freshly released sophomore album Kaminanda showcases the evolution of his ideas and style... His recentmusic history includes live guitar sets with Ganga Giri, Adham Shaikh, RaraAvis, Shimshai, remixing Dehli 2 Dublin, and opening for Bluetech, Gaudi, Tipper, and Kalya Scintilla.

*Just People
JUST PEOPLE are the dedicated offspring of a generation of movers and shakers. Take the eloquence of Bob Dylan, mixed with the sheer power of Led Zeppelin, add a dash of The Beatles and for a nice after taste throw in some Talking Heads. The result is best described by Darcy Wallace of the Oregon Voice:

Although the recordings are strong, a JUST PEOPLE live show is not something to be missed. Alex Gabriel of the daily Emerald says, “JUST PEOPLE's down home soul comes alive during their live shows, laced with grooved out licks and high energized improvisation.
In the end we are all JUST PEOPLE

*Solovox
A producer, composer, and one-man synthesizer attack squad, Solovox is the sound of Earl Carlton Tietze III. He starts with his own originalmusic which spans the genres of house, glitch-hop, breaks, electro, cosmic funk, ambient, and downtempo acid jazz. He also remixes other artists' tracks and throws those in for good measure. Then, in the live environment, he performs with live synth, organ, and piano playing that is like Herbie Hancock smashing head-on into the Chemical Brothers. Mayhem usually ensues, and he consistently delivers one of the finest live electronic shows available anywhere.

He has recently remixed Vokab Company's single 'Shine' featuring Souleye, as well as 'Gunslinger' for their new album 'Quit Sleep.' He is also doing remix work for Hulk Hogan and numerouscommercial clients. His music has been heard on Burn Notice as well as A&E's Biography. As a live performer his legend in Portland, Oregon and the Northwest continues to grow. In July of 2009 he became the first-ever all-electronic act in the history of The Oregon Country Fair for their 40th Anniversary. He also headlined San Diego's Elysium Festival, Mexico's Fuente Eterno festival, Nexus in Los Angeles, and almost killed 2,000 revelers on top of the Hawthorne Bridge in 2010, causing the bridge to sway 2 feet up and down.

Whether improvising heavily with a downtempo acid jazz set or layingdown dance tracks at a club, Solovox is not a DJ...he is one of the most exciting electronic performers to be found anywhere.
