Guest host Wendy Webb interviews Donivee Finnell.
Donivee Finnell's painting are showing at Bare Bones Cafe on SE Belmont thru June 1st. Donivee's work is acrylic, ironic, symbolic, semiotic and sexy. This is Donivee's first showing of work in Portland.
She says "I am inspired by everything around me. I will hear a song, see an advertisement, read a passage in a book and an image will jump to mind and I need to get it on canvas. If I can’t paint at that moment, I will sketch it in my book or on a napkin. I come home every day with my pockets full of scribbled-on napkins. Some flesh out and become the paintings you see. Some live forever on napkins taped in sketchbooks."
